These little things are absolutely cracking! I've owned a pair of ShredLights for a while now and they work wonders for lighting up the road ahead of your board. As others have said, it would be nice if they threw light a little farther than the 8 feet or so that they reach, but as long as you're not bombing pitch-black hills in the dead of night that's not a big problem. Due to their mounting position so close to the floor, they *do* cast big shadows from sticks, stones, and other small obstacles, highlighting them and giving you a chance to avoid them before your face is introduced to the pavement :p Without a doubt, if you're night riding with friends or using roads/pathways where you might encounter cars or pedestrians, you're definitely going to be seen! These things are bright enough that it's practically impossible to miss them.
They're really easy to install too - simply remove the nuts securing your trucks, slip the brackets over the bolts, and re-fasten those nuts again. Then hook the bulb end of the Shredlight over the front of the bracket and pull it back until the rear end slides onto the back of the bracket. Done!
Sadly one of my headlights gave up the ghost over winter when not in use and wouldn't light up unless plugged into the USB cable... However, Eric very kindly offered to replace it for me at a discounted price - what a legend, cheers bud! :D Couldn't have asked for better customer support!
purchased the combo pack for my GTX and wow what a difference it made for me. it is nice and bright & believe me you will be seen which is important for safety riding at night. the installation was a breeze & I recommend these lights for anyone who likes to ride their skateboard at night
