Today, we present the 2020 Angled Mounts as the go-to mount for the rear trucks of the Exway Flex, Backfire Zealot, and the continued mount for Boosted longboards (V1, V2, Plus & Stealth).
As of 9/11/20, all Skateboard Combo Packs, Skateboard Two Packs, and Skateboard Night Ops Packs will include the new 2020 Angled Mounts. We will also be selling the new Angled Mounts standalone on the Skateboard Mounts page. With the new design coming in, we still have some of the 2019 Angled Mounts for sale at 50% off.
What Are The Angled Mounts Designed For?
The 2020 Angled Mounts were designed for electric longboards with pin tail style decks, made famous by the Boosted V2. The Angled Mount positions the lights next to the deck, out of the way of the rear belt or hub motors. They stay inside of the deck length so the lights do not make contact with the ground when the board is stood up on the tail. The New 2020 design has a base plate specifically designed to fit in line with the cable clips included on many boards for cable management.
The 2020 Angled Mounts are compatible with the Flex Riot and Flex Hub with wheel sizes up to 97mm. Depending on your trucks, you may need to tighten your kingpin to help avoid wheel bite. For wheels larger than 97mm, we recommend using the Standard Mounts on top of your deck to allow extra clearance for the larger wheels.
The Angled mounts are not compatible with the X1/X1 Pro Riot Kit due to the rear motor cable placement. For these boards, we recommend Flat Sticky Mounts on the underside of the deck facing backwards, or Standard Skateboard Mounts on top of the deck. The front trucks will require the Standard Skateboard Mounts.
The X1/X1 Pro Hub Drive requires Flat Skateboard Mounts in the rear, and Standard Skateboard Mounts in the front.
The 2020 Angled Mounts are compatible with the rear trucks of every Backfire longboard including: G2, G3, G3 Plus, and the new Zealot. The front truck of these boards will require the Standard Skateboard Mounts.
The Backfire Ranger X2 will require the Standard Skateboard Mounts for the front and rear trucks.
The Backfire Mini does not have any compatible skateboard mounts due to the recessed truck base, so we recommend using Sticky Mounts on the underside of the deck to add ShredLights.
If you have a Boosted Longboard, there is no need to upgrade to the new mounts but we do have some of the old 2019 Angled Mounts available for 50% off while supplies last.
The 2020 Angled Mounts are compatible with all of the rear trucks of all Boosted Longboards including the Stealth, Plus, V2 and V1 Boards, and the Standard Skateboard Mounts are required for the front trucks.
The Boosted Mini S/X will require Extended Skateboard Mounts in the rear, and Standard Skateboard Mounts in the front.
The 2020 Angled Mounts are compatible with the rear trucks of the Wowgo 3X and the Standard Skateboard Mounts are required for the front trucks of these boards.
The Wowgo 3, 2s, Mini, and KT require the Flat Skateboard Mounts in the rear, and the Standard Skatebaord
